Una bambina riceve una bellissima notizia
“A dear family I know has been fighting for as long as I can remember to adopt 3 of their foster children that attend our school. It’s been hard to watch them fight this emotional battle. My love has grown for this family and I have learned so much from them as they have tried to remain positive despite many setbacks. Today my phone rang at my desk and it was my friend Jen telling me things FINALLY had come to an end and the courts were going to let them ADOPT the children. She asked me if I would be sure to tell her sweet girl when she came to my desk for her daily visit. She knew she would want to know right away because she had been so worried. I don’t think even I could understand myself what that moment would feel like. With permission from her Mama, here is the beautiful moment. I cry as I type this. In 12 years at this job, this is by far my best moment ever! To tell a little girl she gets her family forever takes the cake. I can’t even describe that hug…and thank heavens her mom doesn’t mind that I kissed her a million times, and a million more after the film cuts off. This is pure testament that in a world full of turmoil and strife, there is still light and joy to be found in little everyday moments.”

Tannah Butterfield è una bambina di 11 anni che ha ricevuto una notizia davvero speciale dall’insegnante Jackie Alexander.
“Una cara famiglia che conosco ha lottato tanto, per quanto riesco a ricordare, per adottare 3 dei bambini in affido che frequentano la nostra scuola.
Per me è stata dura vederli condurre questa battaglia emotiva.
Il mio amore è cresciuto per questa famiglia e ho imparato molto da loro mentre cercavano di rimanere positivi nonostante i momenti difficili.
Oggi il telefono ha suonato alla mia scrivania ed era la mia amica Jen che mi ha detto che le cose erano FINALMENTE arrivate alla fine e che la corte stava per concedergli di ADOTTARE i bambini.
Mi ha quindi chiesto se volessi dirlo alla bambina, quando fosse passata a farmi visita, come fa ogni giorno.
Lei sapeva che la bambina avrebbe voluto saperlo subito perché era molto preoccupata. Non penso che avrei potuto sapere cosa avrei provato in quel momento.
Con il permesso della sua mamma, ecco il bellissimo momento.
Ho pianto mentre scrivevo tutto questo.
Nei 12 anni di questo lavoro, questo è di sicuro il momento migliore.
Dire a una bambina che avrà la sua famiglia per sempre e di festeggiare.
Non posso nemmeno descrivere quell’abbraccio e grazie al cielo a sua mamma non importa che l’abbia baciata milioni di volte e un altro milione di volte dopo la fine del filmato.
Questo è il puro testamento che in un mondo pieno di tumulti e conflitti possiamo trovare luce e gioia nei piccoli momenti della vita quotidiana.”
